The body is made of light beech wood and is crowned by a round metal attachment that protects the grinding mechanism. The metal crank is fitted with a red wooden handle – a splash of color also found on the handle of the collection drawer. The original ALKA emblem on the front is well preserved and emphasizes the authenticity of the piece. The grinding mechanism works perfectly, the grind size is adjustable, and the small drawer can be easily removed and cleaned.
